Britain votes to leave the European Union

 

The UK has voted to leave the EU - a process that has come to be known as Brexit. Here is what is likely to happen next.

At exactly 06:00 BST it was confirmed that the UK had voted to leave the European Union. The first thing to stress is that the UK will not leave immediately. The UK will still be a member of the European Union at this stage. The process of leaving will begin, however.

Broadfield House Glass Museum is running another of its popular tea and talk sessions this month, this time with celebrated local historian Graham Fisher MBE.

The tea and talk session on Wednesday 25 January is led by historian, author and broadcaster Graham Fisher who will be entertaining and informing visitors during his talk on Cameo Glass.

Broadfield House Glass Museum which is famed for its excellent collection on cameos is hosting the event which runs from 1.30pm - 2.30pm and costs just £1.90 per person, including tea and biscuits.

People can discover more about Dudley borough’s past and beyond in the latest local history talks taking place in libraries this month.

The first local history talk of 2012, ‘A walk through Birmingham City Centre, back in time’ will be at Halesowen Library on Wednesday January 25.

Keith Clenton will present the talk which includes photos from the Carl Chinnarchives dating back to the 1900s and 1800s.  The talk includes New Street, Corporation Street and Bull Street.  Photos of the back to backs will also be on display.
